After leaving Tenerife in the early hours of Tuesday 1st January Oriana had been scheduled to call in La Coruna today (Friday) and arrive Southampton Sunday morning, but is now showing Southampton eta of 23.59 Saturday and making around 20 knots across the Bay as I write.

Further digging shows a call at Lisbon on Thursday from around 8 am until just after midnight thence setting courses for Southampton - but she had already been to Lisbon earlier in this cruise.

I don't suppose we have a correspondents on Oriana at the moment who might be able to spread light on the changed itinerary and projected early return to Southampton - the following cruise is now showing 20.00 departure time on Sunday which suggests there may be something they need extra time in Southampton to deal with.

A major electrical problem necessitated Oriana returning to
Lisbon. Everything now fixed and returning directly to Southampton.

According to our onboard correspondent, there was indeed a problem that cut off all power for a few hours and necessitated a diversion to Lisbon rather than the planned call of La Corunna.

All has been sorted and apparently boarding being delayed by a couple of hours tomorrow, presumably to allow some extra time for any further checks, repairs, maintenance etc. to be conducted.
